Living in Glengarry-Prescott-Russell for most of his life, Thaila Riden has had the privilege of working, performing and volunteering within the community, gaining him a deep connection to the region and an understanding of the issues many residents are concerned about.

He believes electoral reform is desperately needed in Canada’s democratic process and advocates for cross-party collaboration. Thaila will be that collaborative voice for Glengarry-Prescott-Russell to ensure equity and sustainability are factored into provincial policies that will benefit our community for generations to come. With a B.A in law and a B.Sc, he will ensure that decisions are informed by facts and science.

Thaila is well-known in the community for his activism and dedication to sustainable and organic growing practices. He converted a portion of his farmland into a community garden for people to have a safe space to grow local, healthy food. He held the position of “sustainability champion” for Beau’s Brewery where he helped them certify as a B-Corp, represented them on the board of directors for Sustain Ontario, and ensured they maintained their organic certification.

As a board member of Eco East, a non-profit organization, he is actively supporting the united counties in developing a regional climate action plan. He is working hard to protect the region’s natural resources, habitats and farmlands and if elected, will work to further amplify the voice of Glengarry-Prescott-Russell at Queen’s Park.
