The public education system in British Columbia is complex, given the co-governance relationship between locally elected Boards of Education and the Ministry of Education and Child Care. This complexity requires school boards to be in tune with the needs of their communities in order to effectively advocate for students.
All aspects of education decisions must relate back to the best interests of the students we serve. This relates to all areas of my platform: Student Success and Achievement, School Facilities, Truth & Reconciliation, Environmental Stewardship, and Good Governance.
Delivering student success on these platform priorities requires collaboration, trust, and teamwork. Elected school trustees operate as a unified voice and must work closely with other education partners to achieve the best outcomes and life opportunities for students.
