Jeff Bereza has been involved in the agriculture industry across Canada since the early 1990s.
Shortly after starting his career with a small, start-up organic fertilizer company, he became the western Canadian sales manager for UK based micronutrient company Phosyn PLC.
After selling Phosyn’s first litre of micronutrient in Canada, he spent the next 10 years growing the business before moving on to inoculant company Becker-Underwood. Jeff then joined Ceres Global Seeds as Director of Sales and Marketing, successfully growing the business to become the leading independent soybean company across western Canada. He is currently the National Director of Sales for NexucBioAg, where he coaches a team of 12 to develop sales processes for inoculant and fertilizer.
Jeff is a results-oriented leader and a proven relationship-builder with the ability to lead strong teams while balancing multiple interests. This is evidenced in his role of Chair of the Municipal Board of Manitoba, which he recently stepped away from after 8 years. During that time, Jeff oversaw a process that was successful in clearing a backlog of appeals expected to take 10-plus
years in less than 2 years. This has saved Manitobans close to $4M in recent years.
A lifelong resident of Portage la Prairie, Jeff is a former city councillor and an avid community builder. One of his proudest achievements, during his time as city councillor, was helping to bring Portage la Prairie’s Stride Place recreation facility from conception to reality. Jeff’s “can-do” attitude, positive energy, and leadership abilities are widely sought on various boards, committees, and organizations near and far. It is these abilities that he hopes to bring to the Manitoba Legislature as the next MLA for Portage la Prairie.
He and his wife Lynne have two adult daughters and two grandchildren.
