Titi Tijani is fighting for Transcona.
She is a community development leader, and an educator who has made significant contributions to the successful settlements of newcomers to Manitoba.
Titi and her family have established deep roots in Winnipeg where she has lived for over 36 years. Married for 37 years with three adult children, she understands the importance of strong family values, economic growth and community safety in building a viable and vibrant community.
Titi’s educational background includes a degree in Human Ecology from the University of Manitoba, along with a Certificates in Education, Community Leadership and Conflict Resolution.
With 25 years of public service experience in the Government of Manitoba, Titi has focused on providing social services, particularly in the housing sector, to vulnerable individuals and building stronger communities. Additionally, her passion for entrepreneurship and local family-owned businesses led her to successfully own and operate two Robin’s Donut franchises and a transportation business in Winnipeg.
Volunteerism and community service is at the core of Titi’s personal life, and she is actively involved in various community organizations and initiatives. She has been a long-term volunteer for Folklorama and served as the Chair of the Africa Pavilion, served as executive board member of the Manitoba Lung Association and as an adjudicator on the Community and Youth Justice Committee. Titi sits on the board of the African Communities of Manitoba Inc.(ACOMI) as its President.
Recognized for her spirit of volunteerism and community service, Titi has received numerous awards, including the prestigious 2022 Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Community Leadership Award, the 2021 Mayor’s Volunteer Service Award, the 2020 Manitoba Honour 150, and the 2014 Spirit of a Community Builder Award.
With her extensive experience, deep -rooted community involvement and passion for service, Titi Tijani is well-positioned to make a significant and positive impact on the residents of Transcona.
