Biography
Pamela Reid is a parent, an urban food grower and homesteader, a small business owner, a teacher, an artist, a cook, and has been active with various ecologically-minded non-profit organizations. She loves to visit the beautiful beaches along Lake Huron and values the hard work our farmers do every year to bring food to our tables.
Pamela has an Anthropology degree, and an Interdisciplinary Master’s in Environment and Sustainability. She understands the necessity of life-long learning and skills improvement Pamela knows how precarious the work world has become for many of us struggling to make ends meet. Too many of us are having to choose between rent and groceries, especially those of us attempting to live on fixed, low incomes.
Pamela understands the connections between a strong education system and a robust healthcare system that is capable of caring for all of us. Safe, and affordable housing is a must for every single Ontarian to pursue a healthy life, and to find the best ways they can contribute to our inclusive communities.
Pamela will advocate for jobs and business opportunities which honour the triple bottom line – environment, economy, and our diverse society. Wisdom from Indigenous traditions, local and those brought by settlers to Turtle Island, inspires Pamela to remain aligned with these values every day. She agrees that we need to ask ourselves regularly – “What am I doing to become a good ancestor? How will I care for this place?” Pamela knows that we cannot have healthy people on a sick planet nor can we solve today’s problems with the same thinking that created them.
Pamela is ready to represent all the people of Sarnia Lambton in Queen’s Park, advocating and working together with all Ontario MPPs to get things done.
