Melissa has a long history of public service. As MLA, she will focus on public safety, housing and affordability.

A lifelong Vancouverite with a passion for community, Melissa has a long history of public service, serving three terms elected to City Council and Park Board in Vancouver, where she has served in leadership roles including: Finance Committee Chair, Metro Vancouver Director and as a member of the Translink Mayor’s Council.

Melissa brings decades of experience in both private and non-profit residential development. Her professional expertise is widely recognized, with Business in Vancouver naming her to their Forty Under 40 for her leadership in creating affordable housing in B.C. Melissa graduated from Simon Fraser University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science.

She has volunteered her time on boards and committees with many charitable organizations including Moberly Arts and Cultural Centre, Odd Squad Productions, Salvation Army in the Downtown Eastside, Italian Day Festival Society, and Honour House Society.

During her tenure elected to the city Melissa was often the sole voice standing up for public safety, proper policing and sound drug and housing policy in Yaletown. She is committed to restoring a family friendly neighbourhood by eliminating the chaos and disorder.

Married to Blair, a Vancouver Police Officer, and a devoted mother to their 6-year-old daughter, Melissa will fight to restore public safety in Yaletown.
