Brian is a Member at Large with the District Parents Advisory Council for SD42 and an active father in the community. Brian has worked with his own kids schools in the community over the past seven years and operates an ebike and scooter store in Maple Ridge’s DT core.

Brian is passionate about community and our children’s future and if elected, he will work hard to give parents a voice in how our children are being educated while putting students’ needs first.

Brian fosters transparency, accountability and working together to achieve the common goal of providing the best education for our children while supporting parents, teachers and schools in which we live and work.

With over twenty years of management and business experience working for Canada’s top companies, Brian believes with the right guidance and support, we can have the best educational system in the world right here in Maple Ridge.

By putting our kids and their needs first, we can better prepare them for life’s challenges and Brian believes the way to do that is by giving parents back their voice and a seat and the table. Parents want to know what’s going on in our kids schools and have a say in what they want to see more or less of, and I will bring that back to this role on the board of trustees in School District #42.

If elected, Brian’s top 3 Educational Pillars will be; Enhanced Communication between Parents and Schools Working with teachers, schools & the ministry to build a better education plan Brian will work to close gaps on important ‘life skills’ needed in today’s world Increased physical education for our children to get the exercise they need. Knowledge is power and the education of our children should be our top priority in putting families first. If elected I will work hard to give parents their voice back to shape our children’s future in the right direction to ensure we are giving them the skills to thrive in community and be the best they can be reaching their full potential.

My boys have grown up here over the past seven years where I have coached sports working well with parents to achieve our team goals and have effectively worked with my son’s schools to bridge gaps with sensitive situations such as bullying.

Brian believes he has the experience and diplomacy needed to get things done in this complicated world and hopes to give back to his community through this trustee role in asking for your support in this fall’s election in School District #42 for Maple Ridge.

Before embarking on an entrepreneurial adventure in micro mobility, Brian worked for Napa Auto Parts as a Regional Manager responsible for 14 stores and a team of people in BC and the Yukon.  Brian has worked for WestJet Airlines in Sales & Marketing, Brink’s Canada serving the monetary banking system and as a Business Manager with Acklands Grainger, supporting large projects such as the Regina Bypass, several schools and hospitals across Canada and most notably the Seaspan/DND Ship Building initiative for our Military and Coast Guard. Brian is an accomplished relationship manager experienced in procurement, business management/operations. Contract writing, negotiations, and implementation. Also strong in marketing, sales, advertising and writing/linguistics, planning/organizing

The key to much of my success in the corporate world has been relationships and I hope to transcend those skills into this school trustee role to support our children with the voice of parents guiding me.

The challenges I have experienced with my own children in the school system in Maple Ridge has motivated me to want to work hard for them and to help build a better future for all our kids.

I have spent many years working with top companies in this country traveling around North America creating solutions for complex problems on billion dollar projects and would like to bring those skills and critical thinking that earned me recognition and success back to our community and into the board of education for SD42.

I am confident that as a community we can unite to work together on the common goal of building the best education system in the world right here in Maple Ridge while keeping our children safe, their minds stimulated and physical health thriving.
