I was raised in Maple Ridge, attending our local schools, and graduating in 1971. Jim and I have two sons, (journeymen - UA Local 170), and two grandsons attending school here. I have always been an active member of the community. As a youth, I enjoyed riding my horse on the local trails and worked with The Haney Horsemen to enhance this system. I was registrar on the Board of the RMMHA for 30 years. I served on the Board of The International Friendship Society, fostering adoption of children from Russia to local families. I recently retired from SD42 after 34 years, the last 22 years as secretary of Blue Mountain Elementary. Always an active member of my union, CUPE 703, I sat on the executive for 20 years. As a School Trustee, I am looking forward to working with the staff, students, and parents of SD42 to ensure the best education for our children.
