Biography

Randy Sunderman grew up in Kamloops and Clearwater. He started his career working for an economic consulting firm in Victoria, before starting his own economic business and expanding his expertise into economic development.

In 1996, Randy relocated to Kamloops to be closer to family and began working for the provincial government, focusing on regional economic development and business development.

Randy has also been involved with several boards in Kamloops, including Community Futures of Thompson Country, Venture Kamloops Business Care Committee, the Aberdeen Neighbourhood Association, and the Kamloops Area Preservation Association. 

At the provincial level, Randy sat on the board of the Economic Development Association of BC (now BCAED) and was the Interior economic development representative for BC’s Inland Port Feasibility Assessment Committee.

Over Randy’s 30+ year career, he has worked on assignments across Canada, with a focus on British Columbia, Alberta, and the Yukon. He has worked for numerous Indigenous communities, municipalities, and regional governments, as well for provincial and federal governments. His clients have also included a range of businesses in a variety of sectors.

Randy is a candidate for the BC Greens because he believes the province is at a critical crossroads, with the next provincial election marking a key juncture in a range of important land, social, environmental, economic and health issues.
