Biography
Tim Binnema is running as the BC Green Party candidate for Surrey-Fleetwood, bringing over 35 years of experience in engineering, management, and leadership in pollution control and energy optimization. Throughout his career, Tim has championed sustainable, BC-born technological solutions, implementing them across the globe. His work has honed his ability to recognize and address problems before they escalate into crises—a skill he is eager to apply to the challenges facing British Columbia today. He supports the BC Green Party’s policies that tackle root causes and focus on long-term solutions to interconnected issues.
A proud resident of Surrey Fleetwood since 1990, Tim and his wife have raised four children and now enjoy spending time with their five grandchildren. Tim loves the vibrant, diverse community of Fleetwood, where cultural organizations and local initiatives foster strong ties among neighbors. He believes that empowering local voices and embracing this diversity will be key to finding solutions for community safety and livability challenges.
Dedicated to making a difference, Tim spends much of his free time walking or cycling around Fleetwood, connecting with residents and hearing their concerns.
