Jinny Sims has spent her career working to build strong communities that are safe and inclusive for all.

As the NDP MP for Surrey-Newton, she pressed the federal government for more RCMP officers to keep our streets safe. And as the NDP Employment and Social Development Critic, she lead the fight for affordable child care, better-paying full-time jobs, and a fairer immigration system.

A mother, grandmother, and past president of the BC Teachers’ Federation, Jinny has been an advocate for children, families, and schools - and she’s seen the serious damage the BC Liberals caused.

As an active community member, Jinny knows that while Surrey is a great place to live, it can be even better. That’s why she has been proud to serve in David Eby’s BC NDP government.
