from their website

James Steidle, a dedicated forestry advocate and small business owner, is the BC Greens Candidate for the Prince George-Mackenzie riding. James is a community-driven advocate with deep roots in Prince George, having grown up in Punchaw and attended local schools before earning a Master’s degree in public policy from Simon Fraser University. With extensive experience in provincial, municipal, and regional government, James has worked across various sectors, from the BC Legislative Assembly to the labour union movement, where he contributed to policy research and communications.

In 2008, James transitioned from politics to start his own business, Steidle Woodworking. As a small business owner, he has supplied handcrafted furniture to major retailers across Canada and developed a product line that reflects his pride in local manufacturing. This shift also gave him an opportunity to connect with his community through local initiatives.

An outspoken environmentalist, James launched the Stop the Spray BC campaign in response to the aerial herbicide spraying near his family’s ranch. His work, which has garnered national attention, has grown into a network advocating for sustainable forestry practices across Canada. James’s commitment to preserving local ecosystems exemplifies his belief in grassroots change.

James is running for the BC Greens to bring bold, progressive action on issues such as climate change, forestry, and sustainable economic development. His candidacy represents an opportunity for Prince George-Mackenzie to elect a leader dedicated to local solutions that protect both the environment and future generations.
