Bilal Cheema has called Surrey home for over 30 years. Bilal Cheema and his young family currently live in Chimney Heights. Bilal has always found time to serve the community, volunteering with a number of organizations, both locally and internationally. He especially enjoys mentoring and working with youth. Over the years he has been an advisor to several federal ministers, including Health, Fisheries and Oceans, and Immigration. Bilal has also served as a negotiator for the government of Canada on such issues as resources and First Nations self-government. He brings a strong understanding of Ottawa and knows the importance and value of practical partnerships with federal and provincial governments to a growing city like Surrey. At the same time, Bilal and his wife, Sana, have three small children, and he understands the important livability issues and challenges facing young families in Surrey each day.
