Reason for running

submitted by the candidate or their team
I'm running because I care deeply about public spaces; they are among the last remaining venues for free or low-cost activities in an increasingly expensive city, and we need them! I want everyone in every neighbourhood to have access to quality parks and recreation facilities.

Our parks and community centres aren’t serving everyone, and we know that people with disabilities, seniors, young families, our unhoused neighbours, and youth, have needs that aren’t being met. When we make our parks and community centres make sense for any one of these groups, everyone benefits. I want to see accessible bathrooms, water fountains, benches, bike racks, and covered gathering spaces in our parks in every neighbourhood. I want to see our community centres expand out-of-school care like day camps and after-school programs so that all families have access to high-quality, safe, and affordable options.

As Park Board Commissioner, I will always keep my top priorities in mind: Equity and Accessibility, Climate Action, and Indigenous Rights.
