And we need a City Council who understands how all of these challenges are connected. We need to put reconciliation at the top of the civic agenda. We need vision for this city again.

Lesli is the owner of Boldt Communications Inc., a Vancouver-based communications firm founded in 2001.
Before founding her own company, Lesli worked at Vancity Credit Union and held progressively senior positions with the B.C. government in Victoria and Vancouver between 1992 and 2000. She also directed marketing and communications for Vancouver Public Library (2004-2007), and led the City of Vancouver’s 2010 Winter Games-related public communications (2008 to 2010).
She was born and raised in North Vancouver, B.C. and is a settler in the unceded territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish) and sel̓íl̓witulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations. She’s a renter who has lived in Vancouver’s South Granville neighbourhood for almost 20 years.

Lesli cares about the work she does, and the community she lives in.
She is passionate about environmental protection and climate action. Between 2012 and 2020, she was a member of the board of directors of Georgia Strait Alliance, a BC-based environmental advocacy organization, serving two years as president. In her professional life, she’s also worked with leading environmental and climate action organizations like the David Suzuki Foundation, Clean Energy Canada, Climate Smart and more. Lesli lives without a car, and gets around the city on foot, bicycle, transit or in a Modo, Evo or carpool.
Lesli was born and raised in North Vancouver, B.C. and is a settler in the unceded territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish) and sel̓íl̓witulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations. A true West Coaster, she grew up in Lynn Valley, playing in the forest, falling asleep to the sound of rain on the roof, and waking up to the rush of the creek behind her childhood home. She’s a renter who has lived in Vancouver’s South Granville neighbourhood for almost 20 years.
When she’s not working, you can find Lesli running on trails, taking French lessons, riding her bike, taking long walks and listening to podcasts, or talking politics with friends. She also dreams of fronting her own band one day.

I'm running for City Council in Vancouver because our city is stuck. We have a city government that lacks focus, purpose or agency, when what we need is courageous leadership. Things aren’t getting done, and life isn’t getting better for people who are struggling in this city.
For me, my reasons for running are personal, too. I’m a renter in Vancouver, and I was renovicted from my home of 13 years four years ago. Even with all of my privilege, I lost my home, and it was one of the most difficult experiences of my life. And I’m one of the lucky ones, with the ability to find something else and stay in this city. For many, there is no other option but to leave. And that’s not OK.
Vancouver needs strong, focused, competent city councillors who are committed to working with one another to get things done. If I’m elected to Vancouver City Council, that’s exactly what I will do. I will represent citizens with humility, a willingness to listen, and a passion for progressive change.
