“I believe a School Trustee should engage with students and parents, understand their needs/concerns, preserve what is successful, and advocate for change when opportune.”

Charlie has lived in greater Victoria for the past six years while owning and operating a general medical practice serving the public with community and facility health services. He has two children that attend public school in the Greater Victoria School District.

Charlie is an intelligent and practical thinker. In both his personal and professional life, he remains consistently socially engaged with the community, endeavouring to understand current events and their effects.

As Chief of Medical Staff for Saanich Peninsula Hospital preceding and during the COVID pandemic, Charlie extensively collaborated with various community groups and organizations to address critical issues affecting the public.

Guiding principles:

• fiscal responsibility;

• access and availability to public feedback

• clean and effective communication; altruism.

I am running for School Trustee to advocate for students in public education. I advocated for patients in public health care for the past 12 years. With two children in public education in the GVSD, my focus has changed to advocate for all publicly educated students in the GVSD.
