As a two terms trustee, I feel some satisfaction for improvements I have been involved with yet believe there are still many tasks to accomplish. I do believe in a better future however and approach this role with an open mind and an eagerness to learn from others.

We need to repair our relationships with the Four Houses representing Indigenous students and communities, and our connections with other educational partners. I believe we can do this by increasing transparency surrounding our decisions, particularly with respect to budget matters, and involving partner groups in authentic two-way dialogue. We need to ensure that every student has what they need to thrive in a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment and to advocate loudly when we need more resources. We must also plan collaboratively with municipalities and other partners for a growing population and a changing climate.
